Steven Gerrard made two big calls in picking Leon Balogun alongside Connor Goldson in the centre of defence over last week’s scorer Filip Helander and opting for Scott Arfield over Ianis Hagi further up the park.

Here’s what the fans thought of the team charged with earning a quarter final place in the Europa League.

@DJH_EK: “Surprise that Helander has been dropped.”

Steve Lee: “Absolutely spot on with team selection. Balogun offers more pace at the back and better distribution. Arfield makes us stronger in the middle and that allows Aribo to move further forward and drive at them.”

@glasgowsportsfa: “Probably our strongest line up. Though Balogun for Helander is debatable.”

Shaun Fyfe: “Superb team lineup! Probably our strongest. Obviously a bit harsh on Hagi, but decent bench also! Fancy us tonight.”

Ronnie Cameron: “Helander was possibly the best outfield player last week and Hagi always seems hard done by, still a good starting 11. All the very best lads.”

@LiamWATP: “I like Balogun but Helander has been unreal for us. Disappointed he's been dropped.”

@LewisWeenie: “Aribo as part of the front three is a good idea. He was bullying them second half.”

@RFC1872II: “Perfect team for the occasion. Let's go!”

Norman Graham: “Just get the job done, no complacency as Prague are coming at us from the start as they need to score.”

Thomas McEwan: “Massive game! Whatever happens though.. From being knocked out by progress to now being 90 minutes away from a European quarter final what a massive turnaround for the club.”
