Hal Catherwood, regional managing director, UK and Ireland, said: “This is the culmination of continued progress within the Edinburgh office and across the Scottish region.

“Johnny has helped drive our financial planning, business development and growth in new funds and client numbers. As Johnny takes over as head of office, I’d like to thank Marc for all his work and wish him continued success in his broader roles.”

McGlynn said: “I’m so pleased to be taking over this key leadership role at Brewin Dolphin; driving the office forward and enhancing our first-class performance in Edinburgh and Scotland. The firm has a solid reputation for giving trusted financial advice and looking after our clients’ investment over the long-term.”

Wilkinson added: “Johnny has got the energy and devotion to build on what we have already achieved. I am confident he will take the team forward and make the most of the opportunities we see here.”

The firm recently announced a solid start to its financial year with growth across its direct and indirect business.
