Armed man flees on bike after threatening Dunblane shop staff

A man who pulled a knife on a shop worker in an attempted robbery fled the scene on a bike, police have said.

The suspect went into a shop on Kippendavie Road, Dunblane, at around 7.15am on Saturday and brandished a knife at a staff member.

The would-be robber then left the store empty-handed, getting on a bike and heading along Daniel Avenue towards the cemetery.

No one was injured in the incident but police said it was a “frightening ordeal” for the shop worker.

The suspect is white, around 6ft tall and was wearing dark clothes.

Detective Sergeant Will Hogg from Falkirk CID said: “This was a very frightening ordeal for the staff member, though, thankfully, no one was injured.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around the Kippendavie Road area this morning or who may have seen the suspect.

“Similarly, if you have any other information relevant to our ongoing investigation then please also contact police immediately.”
