Yates four behind Brabazon leaders

GLASGOW'S Gordon Yates led the Scottish challenge in round one of the Brabazon Trophy at Royal Liverpool.

The Hilton Park man posted a one-over 73 on the Hoylake links, four shots behind England's Tommy Fleetwood and Slovenia's Tim Gornick, who shared the lead with three-under 69s. Ross Kellett shot a 74 and was joined on the two-over mark by Kris Nicol and David Law.
