Volleyball: McGivern aids Lyon

Former City of Edinburgh middle blocker Mark McGivern helped new club ASUL Lyon make a winning start in the French Volleyball League.

McGivern, who joined the club after two seasons with Avignon, played a starring role in the 25-23, 25-17, 22-25, 30-28 win over Asniers.

There are no Schelde Sports Scottish League matches tomorrow but City of Edinburgh have been handed a tough draw in the first round of the men’s John Syer Trophy a week tomorrow when they travel to Coltness to face City of Glasgow Ragazzi.

Edinburgh Jets take on reigning men’s league champions Kilmarnock Blaze, unbeaten this season.
