Veteran Pat Hurst to the fore in LPGA

American Pat Hurst moved into the early second-round lead of the LPGA Championship with a 67 that lifted the veteran to seven-under par at the second women's major of the year.

The 42-year-old Hurst, who lost a stroke with a bogey at the last, nudged one stroke past overnight leader Yani Tseng, who began her second round with the afternoon starters.

In the clubhouse on six-under par 138 was Finland's Minea Blomqvist, who shot a second successive 69 on the rain-softened Locust Hill Country Club course. Tied for fourth on five-under par were late starter Paula Creamer, who shot an opening 67, and fellow American Cindy LaCrosse, who birdied her last two holes to post a 69 in the second round for a 139 total. Another shot back was Angela Stanford, who shot level-par 72 for 140.
