Under 21s defeat France in run-up to Euros

SCOTLAND'S under 21s beat France 4-1 in the opening test in Lille, in the build-up to the European Nations Championships at the same venue next month.

The young Scots took the lead in 14 minutes, thanks to Rachel Malcolm. France equalised but the lead was restored by Emily Bain within five minutes. Twelve minutes into the second half Sophie McIntyre's set piece shot found the net. Iona Stephen sealed the win when she deflected Malcolm's shot for Scotland's fourth.

Scotland's under 18 boys did not fare so well, losing 2-1 and 3-2 to Ulster in a four test match series in Belfast.
