Ukraine's late show breaks Scotland's hearts

SCOTLAND'S senior women suffered heartbreak when their hopes of a semi-final place were dashed as Ukraine scored four goals in the last six minutes to record a 6-4 win in the European Indoor Nations "A" division in Duisburg, Germany in the final pool match.

The fine line which exists between being "so near yet so far" means that the girls now find themselves in the relegation pool with Belarus, Poland and Lithuania but they have the advantage of carrying through the three points gained by winning their first pool match against the Lithuanians in their fight to retain their top-level status.
