Trio poised for early exit

THE three Scots playing in the Portuguese women’s amateur international golf championship at Montado Golf Resort in Lisbon are likely to miss today’s third-round cut to the leading 40 players and ties.

Alyson McKechin (Elderslie) is lying joint 69th after rounds of 79 and 81 for 160. Carnoustie’s Ailsa Summers has scored 82-85 for 167 and is joint 90th. Germany-based Rachel Taylor is joint 96th after rounds of 81-89 for 170.

Germany’s Roberta Roeller leads by four shots with scores of 66 and 74 for four-under-par 140.

Defending champion Leona Maguire from Slieve Russell Ireland is joint sixth on 146 with scores of 72-74.
