Top-ten finishes for Scots in Colombia

South American amateur: Students Graeme Robertson (Stirling University) and Jane Turner (Robert Gordon University) both finished seventh in their respective categories of the South American Amateur Championships, supported by the R&A, at Cali, Colombia.

Glenbervie member Robertson shot 70, 75, 71 and 72 for a total of one-over-par 289 and finished seven shots behind the winner by three strokes, Jorge Fernandez (Argentina). Former Scottish Boys’ Stroke- Play champion James Bunch (St Andrews) came 45th in a field of 62 with scores of 77, 78, 73 and 81.

Turner had rounds of 76, 71, 73 and 70 for a total of two-over-par 290 in the women’s event, which was won with a total of 283 by Argentina’s Delfina Acosta.
