Thursday night game at firhill

GLASGOW will play their first-ever home match on a Thursday night to allow BBC Wales to broadcast their RaboDirect Pro12 clash with the Scarlets on 9 February.

A Glasgow spokesman said: “Based on feedback from supporters, our preference is to stage home matches on a Friday night. Tournament broadcasters are, however, entitled to schedule games in the period from Thursday through to Sunday.

“We fully recognise the important role that broadcasting plays in the development of professional rugby and will do our utmost to make the fixture as attractive and enjoyable as possible for our supporters.”
