Third Division round-up

BERWICK Rangers and Albion Rovers go head to head this afternoon as they look to kill off each other's hopes of reaching the play-offs. Only one place is up for grabs with Queens Park also fighting for the final spot but the race may yet go down to the last day of the season.

Berwick are three points behind Queens who arguably have an easier game against Elgin and the Borderers will likely need to win to take the fight to next weekend when they have the easier match on paper. Having drawn their last three matches against Livingston (twice) and East Stirling, Berwick will be confident that they are in good form to edge out the other sides.

Albion Rovers, meanwhile, are four points behind fourth placed Queens, but have a game in hand. With that being against Livingston however, Albion will also feel that anything less than three points today will go a long way to condemning them to another season in the third division.

Paul Martin's side were boosted by a narrow victory over the Hampden club last weekend but promptly lost the return match in midweek to undo their good work. With their last away win coming in February, Albion will have their work cut out this afternoon.
