There'll be no Cup hangover from Hearts, insists Kello

HEARTS goalkeeper Marian Kello today insisted his team will bounce back quickly from their dispiriting Scottish Cup elimination at the hands of Aberdeen, starting with Saturday's league match against St Mirren.

The Slovakian goalkeeper performed creditably at Pittodrie but could not prevent Darren Mackie and Lee Miller scoring the goals which secured a 2-0 victory and passage to the fifth round for Mark McGhee's side.

Kello explained his disappointment at exiting the Cup at the first hurdle and admitted Hearts' display was sub-standard. However, he is confident they will return to winning ways this weekend.

"I'm sure that, in the next game, we will not be thinking about losing at Aberdeen," said the Slovakian. "I think the St Mirren game will be massive for us, we will need a lot of concentration and we are definitely going to be better. We must beat St Mirren at home.

"We didn't play very well at Aberdeen. We cannot only watch goals go in against us, we must play our own football. I believe we are going to be better. We wanted to go through in the cup but we are out. We must focus on the league and try to win the Co-operative Insurance Cup. Of course, the league is our priority."

Hearts' league form has been encouraging of late, for they have not lost in their previous five SPL encounters.

Kello featured behind a makeshift defence on Saturday, including 19-year-old debutant left-back Rocky Visconte. Lee Wallace had suffered a heel injury prior to the match but the young Australian had an outstanding match despite left midfield being his favoured position.
