Tennis: Mental focus must be key for Murray

Andy MURRAY knows he must improve his concentration after he shrugged off a miserable second set to beat Xavier Malisse and book his place in the third round of the Rome Masters.

Still stunned by last week's shock loss to Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci in Madrid, the Scot never found his top form but did enough to win 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 in just under two hours. With the French Open fast approaching, Murray admitted his performance was far from perfect.

"I concentrated badly throughout and I've got to get better at it," the Scot said. "On this surface you need to be patient."

Murray will play the winner of the match between Viktor Troicki and Potito Starace.
