Tennis: Duncan faces finals D-Day at the seaside

Barnton Park teenager Scott Duncan was due to contest two senior finals at the annual East Lothian tennis championships in North Berwick today.

Confirming rich promise, Duncan won through to meet Italian Gabrielle Rainieri in the men’s singles before
teaming up Waverley’s Andy Melrose in the men’s doubles
where Raineri and countryman Paolo Conti awaited.

The ladies singles final saw Falkirk’s Alicia Robinson
take on English challenger Lauren Matthews. In the mixed doubles, meanwhile, St Serfs’ Mark Gaffney was hoping to make up for
disappointment last year when he partnered club-mate
Hannah Watson against
Braid’s Jonny Short and Lesley Anne Thomas.
