Tennis: Anastasia in hunt for title

Rising Edinburgh star Anastasia Mikheeva is today on course to claim her second under-14 title on the European junior tennis tour.

Mikheeva, 12, beat Romania’s Cristina Miruna Tudor 7-6 (3), 6-4 to reach the semi-final of the AEGON-sponsored ITF tournament in Wrexham. A product of the Scottish tennis academy at St George’s School, Anastasia plays fellow Briton Olivia Tomkins for a place in the final.

Following the Wrexham event, Anastasia will undertake a ten- day training camp in Tenerife before returning for a tournament in Bolton and a major international event in Tarbes.
