Teasdale targeting league veteran for assistant’s job

JOHN TEASDALE may target an experienced Scottish League star as player-assistant manager to kick-start his Huntly revolution.

The 47 year-old, who had been based in Los Angeles, working in the US motor industry, jetted back to Scotland on Friday and saw his new charges crash 3-0 to Formartine.

“Nothing has been decided yet as regards the assistant’s position, said Teasdale.

The position may be of interest to someone coming out of a Scottish League club who has a season or two left in them

He added:

“The result and performance showed me a lot about certain players.

Teasdale’s side went down early on to a Barry Somers opener before conceding a penalty on the stroke of half-time, converted by Kenny Coull. Stuart Mackay added a third in the 70th minute.

Elsewhere, a 5-3 win at Fort William took Buckie Thistle two points clear at the summit with late goals from Ian Murray and Charlie Brown sealing it.

Champions Cove Rangers slipped up at Lossiemouth, losing 3-2, while third placed Fraserburgh also lost, 2-0 away to Strathspey.
