Tales from the tabs: It's all go for Ally McCoist

ALLY McCoist has only just got his feet under the desk at Ibrox but appears to be wasting little time in his efforts to bolster his Rangers squad for next season.

According to the Sun the new manager is weighing up a move for 31-year-old Brazilian defender Emilson Sanchez Cribari, who is available on a free transfer from Napoli, to plug the gap left by David Weir if he leaves the club this summer. Israeli striker Tomer Hemed is also said to be on McCoist's radar.

The Daily Record meanwhile reported that Rangers owner Craig Whyte has given McCoist the go-ahead to start re-signing talks with Allan McGregor, Madjid Bougherra, Steven Whittaker and Steven Davis.
