TAEKWONDO: GB Taekwondo remain keen to work with Aaron Cook, despite the world No 1’s intention to switch his allegiance to the Isle of Man after being overlooked for the Olympics.

GB Taekwondo remain keen to work with Aaron Cook, despite the world No 1’s intention to switch his allegiance to the Isle of Man after being overlooked for the Olympics.

The 21-year-old European champion was ranked first by the World Taekwondo Federation in the under-80kg category, but Lutalo Mohammad was instead selected by British Taekwondo for the London 2012 squad. Mohammad went on to win the bronze medal.

Cook feels it is impossible for him to work again within the current Team GB set-up.

A spokesman for GB Taekwondo said: “We have made efforts to re-engage with Aaron since the Games and have made it clear that we remain keen to work with him going forward.”
