Table Tennis: Title hopes put on the table

Murrayfield 1 host North Merchiston 1 tonight in what is likely to be one of the decisive matches of the Edinburgh table tennis league.

The intriguing clash goes ahead at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Murrayfield Avenue (7pm) with Murrayfield likely to field Colin Dalgleish, Chris Wheeler and Blair Fowler.

North Merchiston pipped tonight’s rivals by a point for the league title last season and their team is expected to be spearheaded by Stewart Armitage backed up by David Atkins and Willie Mabon who won the Edinburgh premier individual title earlier this year.
