Swimming: Robert Welbourn sets new European record

Robert Welbourn broke his own European record on the first day of the British International Disability Championships in Sheffield.

Welbourn broke the S10 400 metres freestyle European and British record on his way to meeting the IPC Swimming World Championship qualifying time.

Double Paralympic champion Eleanor Simmonds won her first medal of the competition in the women's 400m freestyle. Simmonds, who clocked 5:32.03, said: "I really wanted to go under 5:30 here today so I am little bit disappointed, but I have achieved the qualifying time for the World Championships and that's great.
