Sutil upbeat about future in Formula 1

Adrian SUTIL hopes his Formula One future will be settled within the next fortnight.

The future of the 28-year-old German has been the subject of speculation after his current employers Force India stalled on naming their driver line-up for next season.

Sutil is in the frame to stay on at Force India, who he first joined in 2007 when the team was owned by Spyker, although he faces competition from 2011 team-mate Paul Di Resta and test driver Nico Hulkenberg.

Sutil did his reputation the power of good with a fine drive to sixth place at the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix last weekend and he admits he is relaxed about his prospects.

“To be honest, I delivered great performances at my last ten races,” Sutil told formula1.com. “For sure, these results make things easier for me and my manager to sort out the future.”

Asked whether he was surprised to be left waiting to hear about where he will drive in 2012, he said: “Yes. But that’s life in Formula One and you have to deal with it.”
