Stretton into U-16 last four

Blackhall’s Millie Stretton faces one of the biggest tennis matches of her fledgling career later today when contesting a place in the semi-finals of the AEGON British under-16 championship in Bournemouth, writes BILL LOTHIAN.

Royal High pupil Millie, who is seeded 11, won through to meet tournament second seed Alannah Griffin with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 victory over seventh seed Molly Reed.

In the girls’ under-12 singles there was disappointment for Waverley’s Alexandra Hunter who bowed out 6-4, 6-3 to 
Louisiana Vine.
