Stonking goal from Sonkur gives Tynie another Cup

Ayrton Sonkur slammed home a winner on the hour-mark to take the South East Region under-13 Lothian Buses Cup for Tynecastle against Salvesen at a wind-swept Saughton Enclosure.

Salvesen's Cezary Kabala had an early chance after finding a bit of space on the right hand side, but he dragged his shot wide of Jack Buchanan's right hand post.

Salvesen should have taken the lead soon after, when Liam McGarry found himself clear on goal with only Buchanan to beat, but the goalie pulled off a marvellous save to deny the striker.

After the break, Salvesen almost broke the deadlock once again when Ronan Dowds fired a hard shot from the edge of the box, which looked to be helped on its way by the gale force conditions. Tynie keeper Buchanan proved he was equal to the task once again and collected comfortably.

Tynecastle began to force their way into the game and the deadlock was broken when Philip Alexander fired a corner into a packed Salvesen box and Sonkur collected, composed himself, and shot high into Kieran Green's net.

They almost doubled their lead when Alexander's cross was flicked on by Kieran Somerville but cleared off the line.

Salvesen's final chance came from McGarry who found space on the edge of the box but miscued his shot.
