Stirling students shock City

Stirling University showed their credentials when they beat Premier Division opponents Edinburgh City 1-0 in the King Cup third round thanks to an Abraham Keller goal.

Also in the same competition, Heriot-Watt University defeated Tynecastle 5-4 on penalty kicks after a goalless 90 minutes and a 1-1 scoreline after extra time. In the League Cup, Spartans beat Ormiston 5-0 with a hat-trick from Alex King and further strikes from Dean Hoskins and Ross Archibald. A Jack Beesley double earned the students of Edinburgh University an extra-time 2-1 victory against Selkirk, while in the Central Taxis Premier Division, Ross Allum and Kevin Morrison scored in Whitehill Welfare's 2-0 win against Civil Service Strollers.

In the First Division, Leith Athletic defeated Gretna 2008 2-1, Vale of Leithen won 2-0 against Gala Fairydean and Peebles drew 2-2 with Easthouses Lily.
