Steven Burke lapping up Milk Race return

OLYMPIC gold medallist Steven Burke is relishing the return of the Milk Race to the cycling calendar after a 20-year absence.

The event will be reborn as a pair of men’s and women’s city centre races in Nottingham on 26 May. Burke will use the race as part of his build-up to next year’s Glasgow Commonwealth Games. He said: “It’s an historic event and exciting to be a part of it. London 2012 and the exploits of Bradley Wiggins have already increased participation in cycling and the more big events like this the better it is for the sport.”
