Steve Stricker streaks further ahead

Steve Stricker continued his domination of the field at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio last night by making a storming start to his third round.

The American, nine under overnight, put his approach to the par-four second straight into the hole and then also eagled the par-five third to move to 13 under through five holes.

He led by four from countryman Matt Kuchar, who enjoyed six birdies in his opening eight holes to move to nine under.

Shaun Micheel was a shot back while Mark Wilson was the clubhouse leader on seven under after a 66.

The 37-year-old American shot five birdies and an eagle at the par-five 15th and would have been in an even stronger position had it not been for a bogey five at the last.

Newly-crowned world No.1 Luke Donald was five under through eight, alongside Ryder Cup team-mate Rory McIlroy.
