Speedway: Jozsef Tabaka ready for Monarchs season

JOzsef Tabaka is keen to get down to the nuts and bolts of his speedway campaign for 
Edinburgh Monarchs – in more ways than one.

The Hungarian will be a key factor for the team when they get into gear against Berwick Bandits on March 29, but he 
admits he must improve his machinery if he is to realise his full potential in the squad.

This is Tabaka’s third spell in Monarchs colours, but he is has yet to complete a full season after he was dropped from the side in 2010, and last year when he rejoined in August he was injured shortly afterwards.

He said: “I was pretty unlucky with how things worked out in 2012 and I know my machinery needs to be a lot better this year. My bikes have remained in Scotland over the winter and a lot of work has been done on them to make them better.

“I’m feeling good about the new season and I have already been practising back home in Hungary in readiness, I’m 
eager to get started now.”

Meanwhile, Monarchs are revving up behind Edinburgh Capitals as they close in on the Elite League ice hockey play-offs. Members of Monarchs’ 2013 squad, including skipper Derek Sneddon, will visit Murrayfield on Sunday March 24 to cheer the Capitals to success against Dundee Stars in their final home game of the regular season.
