Sophie May Leyland shines in Anderson High win

NETBALL: Sophie May Leyland from Anderson High School was named top player at the Scottish Schools Cup Finals Day.

Over 200 girls took part in eight closely-fought finals at Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with Anderson HS lifting the open section title when they saw off Holy Cross High School 43-29.

Peebles High School beat St Andrews Academy 28-14 to lift the S3 trophy, while S2 winners were Hyndland Secondary, who beat Holyrood Secondary 37-13.

Top team in S1 went to Arbroath High School who beat Peebles High School 26-17.

In the 'silver' finals Woodmill High School beat Gryffe High School 53-21 in the open section, in S3 St Ninians High School beat the High School of Dundee 32-16, Lomond School defeated the High School of Dundee 12-10 in S2 and S1 glory went to Berwickshire High School who saw off Albyn School 30-11.
