Snooker: Vallance pots final berth

Corstorphine's Ross Vallance, 22, secured his place in the final of East of Scotland Snooker Championship last night after defeating Perth's Bobby Cruickshanks 4-2 at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange.

Vallance had to work hard for his victory against the current Scottish National champion and got off to a good start with a 41 clearance in the first frame before Cruickshanks levelled with breaks of 30 and 48. The next two frames were shared before Vallance won a nervy fifth frame on the black and he followed this up with a 40 break in the sixth to ensure his place in the final.

Vallance will now have to beat defending champion Eden Sharav (Alloa) if he is to win the title for a second time. The final takes place at The Edinburgh Corn Exchange, on Friday, 7pm.
