Snooker: Scottish pair Col the pots

MUSSELBURGH'S Ross Muir and Anthony McGill of Glasgow will both compete in the semi-finals of the Lt Col Walter Rowley OBE Junior Star of the Future snooker festival at Pontin's in Prestatyn, Wales.

McGill, participating in the 15 to 20 age group, defeated Eden Sharav (Alloa) 3-0, Michael Leslie (Bonnyrigg) 3-1 and Mitchell Mann (Birmingham) 3-0. Leslie had defeated Hampshire's Ollie Tydeman to reach the last 16.

Muir, competing in the under 14 section, defeated World Ladies' Junior Champion Hannah Jones 3-0, fellow-Scot Jamie Toal of Coatbridge 3-0 and Shane Castle (Hampshire) 3-1.
