Snooker: Leslie secures a second win

BONNYRIGG'S Michael Leslie made it two wins out of two in the group stages of the European Under-17 Snooker champion at the Apple Snooker Club in Bugibba, Malta.

The 16-year-old overcame Benjamin McCabe of Sweden, recovering from losing the first frame before winning the next three frames to secure a 3-1 victory. McCabe cleared from the green to win the first frame on the black but two 30-plus breaks were enough for Leslie to level the match.

A 42 clearance put Leslie ahead in the match and a 39 break in the fourth frame ensured that Leslie maintained his unbeaten record.
