The man who guided Kinlochshiel to Shinty's Balliemore Cup this year has stepped down as manager. Keith Loades helped the club to a successful 2010 season, with the Balliemore trophy the icing on the cake. He also took them to the same final in 2009. But he has decided to step down due to work commitments.
"It was really hard to step down but I live in Inverness and I am the commercial director of Morrison Construction and it was not going to be possible to commit to midweek training," he said. "It's an 80-mile trip and I just felt I wouldn't do myself or the team justice. It is very difficult because the team are in as good a shape as they have been for many years and I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my three years there." Loades' co-manager, Johnston Gill, will take sole charge of team affairs this season.
Meanwhile, Glenurquhart have been handed a boost with manager Jim Barr, who guided the club to sixth last year, agreeing to stay on for a further year.
