Shinty: Borthwick back to his best

Kingussie reaped the rewards on Saturday of Thomas Borthwick getting his wanderlust out of his system.Borthwick missed the 2012 campaign as he left Badenoch to travel around Australia.

Luckily for bosses Russell Jones and Davie Anderson, the forward is back and his two late goals kept Kings top of the Premiership – as it looked as if newly-promoted Lochaber were going to leave the Dell with a point until Borthwick’s clinchers in 85 and 88 minutes.

Borthwick hopes Kings can now mount a serious trophy challenge. He said: “That’s two wins out of two so you can’t ask for better. We just need to keep the run going now.”

Kyles and Inveraray also maintained their unbeaten record with a 1-0 win over Glen Urquhart and a 4-2 win over Oban respectively.
