Shauna mulls Olympic bid

Edinburgh beach volleyball player Shauna Mullin is mapping out the route which she hopes will land her at Horse Guards Parade in London for an Olympic debut.

The former Team Edinburgh and Scotland indoor player, is currently at a training camp in Fuertoventura with English partner Zara Dampney a month ahead of the new international season. Mullin and Dampney are favourites to get the one automatic place as host nation but they also aim to finish high enough up the world rankings to guarantee another British place.

“A lot of the work we are doing is finding a cruising speed and then changing a gear and recognising when to do that as well as the troubleshooting; listening to your partner and supporting them,” said Mullin.”
