More than five hours of play was lost at Genzon Golf Club due to two separate thunderstorms, leaving more than half the field to complete the second circuit tomorrow.

Gallacher, who marked his return from hand surgery with an opening 70, added a 72 on a marathon day for the players to sit tied for 23rd in the clubhouse on two-under-par.

The 41-year-old found himself two-over for the day with three to play before picking up birdies at the seventh and ninth, his 16th and 18th holes.

Warren also got finished before play was halted for the day, but he looks certain to miss the cut after a pair of 72s.

Three off the overnight lead after his 69 on Thursday, Richie Ramsay only managed three holes by the time he eventually started out again.

He started with a birdie at the 10th before adding two pars to sit four-under for the tournament, nine off the clubhouse lead, which is held by Korea’s Soomin Lee.

The 22-year-old has yet to drop a shot after adding a bogey-free 65 to his opening 66 to sit three shots clear of Dutchman Joost Luiten (68-66).

Ireland’s Paul Dunne, who held a share of the 54-hole lead in The Open at St Andrews last year while still an amateur, is three shots further back alongside South Africa’s Brandon Stone.

“I feel this is a good golf course for me – soft greens and heavy rough,” said leader Lee, who has two top-three finishes from just five career European Tour events since October. “My focus now is to just play my game and try and stay bogey-free for the weekend.”

Dunne, who turned professional after helping Great Britain & Ireland win the Walker Cup last tear, illuminated his 69 with an eagle at the 13th.

“I’m really pleased with that,” the 23-year-old said. “It was kind of a weird day. Yesterday my swing felt very comfortable and today I felt like I was fighting it a little bit. I’m kind of proud of how I hung in there after a bit of a ropey start and to be able to get a decent round out of it.”

On one-under Scott Jamieson is one outside the projected cut mark with a hole to play, while the remaining Scots will start Saturday playing catch up.

Jamie McLeary and David Drysdale both played one hole while Craig Lee and Andrew McArthur are still to start.
