Scotland's women win gold at European Curling Championships

Scotland's women struck gold at the European Curling Championships in Switzerland, defeating Sweden in the final.

The Scots, led by skip Eve Muirhead, won 6-3 in St Gallen.

For Muirhead and team-mates Anna Sloan, Vicki Adams, Lauren Gray and alternate Kelly Schafer it was the ideal preparations for the Winter Olympics in South Korea next year.

The same team will represent Great Britain at the Games in Pyeongchang which take place from 9-25 February.

Scotland’s men’s team, led by Kyle Smith, have also reached the European final in St Gallen. They too will face Sweden, later on Saturday.
