STUART HOGG - 7

Right place at the right time for the opening try - his 17th for Scotland - and always seems to create something with ball in hand. Made a couple of trademark breaks as they game went on, but still short of full fitness.

TOMMY SEYMOUR - 6

Big early boot down the line set up Hogg’s opening score, but struggled to get into the game and was starved of ball before he came off.

HUW JONES - 7

Showed quick hands early on and a good finish for his fifth try in nine games, could be an exciting signing for Glasgow this season.

ALEX DUNBAR - 7

Grew into the game in the second half and scored an important try for the hosts.

LEE JONES - 6

Tried to involve himself in the game but often ran out of space. However, looked lively and made a key contribution to Dunbar’s late score.

FINN RUSSELL - 7

A few errant kicks out of hand early on, but got better as the game went on and produced one dazzling break that made crucial ground. A decent afternoon with the boot, kicking 12 points.

ALI PRICE - 7

A nuisance around the fringes and a handy replacement for Greg Laidlaw. Looked sharp before going off.

DARRYL MARFO - 7

Took a couple of early hits, but secured a big turnover to make an instant impact on debut.

STUART MCINALLY - 9

Impeccable with his throwing and a couple of trademark carries which led to two tries and a good run out.

WP NEL - 5

Was penalised in the scrum early on and lacked discipline in the loose before he was forced off with an arm problem.

BEN TOOLIS - 7

Showed good hands on more than one occasion and was a nuisance around the park. Reliable in the line-out.

JONNY GRAY - 7

A couple of big carries as the strength of the Scottish pack showed in the second half.

JOHN BARCLAY - 6

Suffered a blow to the shoulder and did not quite look at his best after a month out.

HAMISH WATSON - 6

A couple of turnovers but unable to secure quick ball in a frustrating first half.

RYAN WILSON - 6

A quiet afternoon for the vice-captain.
