Schools squash: Lobban eyes more joy at Championships
Fortrose Academy fourth-year pupil, Kirsty Lobban, who ended a long home drought when she won the under-15 title two years ago, will be one of the favourites when she lines up in the under-17 event at this year’s Scottish Junior Open Championships, which start at Heriot-Watt University on Saturday.
Montrose’s Rosie Allan and Edinburgh’s Douglas Kempsell are the leading Scottish hopes in the under-19 Championships and Aberdeen’s Richard Hollins should be a major contender in the boys’ under-15s.
The Championships take place from Saturday to Tuesday and entries come from all around the globe, including India, Pakistan, Argentina and Trinidad & Tobago.
