Schools fencing: Team for Jersey named

Calum de Sainte Croix (Braes High School, Falkirk) and Sarah-Jane Hampson (Inverkeithing HS), who both won overall titles at the recent Scottish Schools’ Championships, have been named in the Scottish team for the Junior Commonwealth Fencing Championships in Jersey next month.

Six Scottish school fencers have been selected in the under-20 team that will take part in the Championships from 13-17 February.

De Sainte Croix has been named in the men’s foil, with Andrew Williamson (Lockerbie Academy) in the men’s sabre. Chloe Dickson (Glenwood High School, Glenrothes) and Katie Smith (George Heriot’s) are in the women’s foil with Hampson and her Inverkeithing High team-mate, Kate Daykin, in the women’s sabre.
