Rugby: Visser called up for the Barbarians

Edinburgh winger Tim Visser will add another chapter to his career by being included later today in the Barbarians squad for Sunday's clash with England at Twickenham.

A call-up to the illustrious select side for a match taking place one day before his 24th birthday is further recognition for the Dutch-born Visser as he waits to qualify for Scotland on residency next year.

For the past two seasons Visser has topped the Magners League try-scoring charts despite Edinburgh having yet to qualify for play-offs.

Also, he maintained his place in the competition's "team of the season" in following up a "best young player" award in 2009-10.

Visser will be appearing at Twickenham alongside luminaries such as South African World Cup winner Ruan Pienaar and New Zealand All Blacks record try scorer, Doug Howlett.

It is also anticipated that Sunday's match will mark the rugby union debut of Willie Mason, a former Australian rugby league player who has switched codes to join French cracks, Toulon.
