With no signs of caution both sides went at it. Muir worked their way upfield and a couple of darts, by scrum-half Dougie Steele, followed by hooker Tristan King, brought a penalty close to the line. The lineout drive produced a try for prop Dale Robertson with No.10 Chris Laidlaw kicking a good conversion.

County returned to having more pressure but lacked a cutting edge until, with five minutes to the pause, stand-off Ross Jones made a break, exchanged possession with his partner Matt Donaldson and scored under the bar. Jonny Hope converted.

County dominated from the re-start and went ahead in 52 minutes, with a finely crafted try for Jones converted from touch by Hope. Six minutes later Hope intercepted and Craig Pringle grabbed their third try with Hope converting.

A try by Craig Keddie in 66 minutes converted by Laidlaw kept Muir in the game but they had to be satisfied with a losing bonus.
