The Edinburgh side produced an inept display that saw them trailing 21-7 at the break, despite Stirling having had two forwards yellow-carded during the opening 40 minutes, though Muir’s Lewis Carmichael was also sin-binned.

Indeed, County capitalised with a try in each period they were reduced numerically, the first from Ruairidh Swan after seven minutes, followed by Reyner Kennedy 20 minutes later, both converted by Jonny Hope. Adam Nicol grabbed the third in injury time, Hope again adding the extras.

For Boroughmuir, the only reply was a touchdown by Dan Winning that Chris Laidlaw goalled.

County’s superiority continued after the break, Calum Hunter-Hill going over to secure the bonus point, Hope again converting. Boroughmuir reduced the deficit as Jordan Edmunds scampered in, Ciaran Whyte converting but Hope put the game beyond Muir with a penalty, with Lewis Wynne icing the cake for County with an unconverted late try.
