Six Nations: RBS to put crowd in picture

SIX Nations Championship sponsors RBS are, literally, putting every single supporter that turns up to watch Scotland against Wales in the picture this weekend.

The RBS has worked with the SRU over the past year to widen their sponsorship into club and community rugby, with long-serving club volunteers invited on to the pitch in recent international matches to hold a giant Scotland jersey.

At the autumn Test match with New Zealand, the sponsors launched another new initiative designed to encourage supporters – a 360 degree, multibillion pixel image of the Murrayfield crowd. The picture was posted online and enabled fans to zoom in on themselves wherever they were in the crowd.

It proved such a hit that RBS have commissioned another Murrayfield 360 this weekend. The picture will be posted online on Sunday evening at the RBS/Scottish rugby Facebook page. Supporters who tag themselves in the RBS FanPic will also be entered into a prize draw to win a signed Scotland shirt, and can also vote for their Man of the Match.

More than 8,000 people tagged themselves in the shot from last November’s game against New Zealand, when the picture was taken during the world famous All Black haka, but RBS are confident they can break the 10,000-mark with wider knowledge of the unique picture this weekend.

To see the picture and tag yourself, family or friends, go to www.facebook.com/rbsscottishrugby on Sunday evening.
