Called in to start at the last minute but marked his first Test start with a impressive double.

Another exceptional display from the fly-half as quick-thinking ran the legs off the Australians.

Scored the Scots’ crucial second just before half-time and linked superbly with his flat-mate Russell.

Mixed bag in the loose. Looked tired towards end of the first half and replaced at the break.

Showed all the aggression in the loose that was expected of him on his return to the Dark Blues starting XV.

Back to his domineering best as he tackled everything in sight. Capped great display with a try.

JOHN BARCLAY - 8

A true skipper’s performance. Got the try he deserved near the end as he outshone the renowned Aussie back-row.

HAMISH WATSON - 8

Took a sore one when Sekope Kepu thrust an outrageous shoulder barge into his face but battled on magnificently.

RYAN WILSON - 7

Lots of menace and aggression in the loose and ripped the ball out of Australian hands a few times.

REPLACEMENTS - 7

Props Zander Fagerson and Jamie Bhatti added energy where Scotland needed it most as they overran their opponents in the second half.
