Former Rangers star Josh Windass has trolled Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata on Twitter after a section of the Parkhead crowd unveiled a banner criticising the player. Referencing a comment made by ex-Celtic striker John Hartson during the World Cup, Windass cheekily wrote: “He was worth 50 million 6 week ago ?” (Scottish Sun)

Rodgers wants to keep Boyata

Brendan Rodgers is planning on Dedryck Boyata staying at Celtic beyond the closure of the transfer window on Friday night. The Belgian World Cup defender made a stunning return to action for the Scottish champions when he scored the only goal of their Premiership fixture against Hamilton Accies at Celtic Park yesterday. Gerrard happy to take blame

Steven Gerrard offered to shoulder the blame for Motherwell’s last-gasp equaliser after Rangers threw away victory at Fir Park. Hearts boss not interested in ‘Craig Levein team’

There is no such thing as a ‘Craig Levein team’ and, if there is, the Hearts manager has little interest in building one solely in that image. That was the insistence of the Tynecastle boss after his side made it three wins from three to begin the 2018/19 Ladbrokes Premiership campaign with a 1-0 victory over ten-man Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. Stubbs inconclusive on Smith’s future

Alan Stubbs was inconclusive when asked whether fans’ favourite Cammy Smith was free to leave St Mirren. He said: “I don’t know, no. At the moment, no. You know what football is like, anything can change. But as far as I am standing here now, what I have got is what I have got.” (Various)
