I’ll help Rangers, says Wilkins

Ray Wilkins has made himself available to ‘help’ Rangers as the Ibrox board continue their protracted search for a new manager.

The former Gers midfielder questioned why it’s taking so long to find the successor to Pedro Caixinha when the club have a wealth of legends who’d be thrilled to take over.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “It’s taking far too long. We’ve got legends like McLeish, Butcher, McCoist, Durrant… I’d love to be involved in it. I’d love to help this wonderful football club with these men.” (The Scotsman)

Davies blasts Kipre challenge on Dembele

Celtic No 2 Chris Davies reckons Moussa Dembele is lucky not to be out of football altogether after Cedric Kipre’s over-the-top challenge during Sunday’s Betfred Cup final.

Brendan Rodgers’ assistant said: “Moussa’s got a swollen ankle. He’s had a bad twist and the contact as well. It was a very poorly timed tackle. It could have been much, much worse. Thankfully for him, it’s not.

Miller hits out at ‘malicious treatment’

Kenny Miller has branded his treatment by former Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha ‘malicious’ and admits he feared it might have forced him to leave the Ibrox club.

Speaking about his banishment from the first team squad amid claims he was leaking info from the dressing-room, Miller said: “It was really frustrating because of everything surrounding the issue – which was an absolute load of nonsense,

“All I can say is that there were absolutely malicious things going about. It was nonsense and defamatory towards me and my character.” (The Scotsman)

Not a grudge match, insists McInnes

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has laughed off claims that his side’s trip to Ibrox this evening is a Ryan Jack ‘grudge match’.

Jack quit the Dons for Rangers in the summer and was booed on his return to Pittodrie for Scotland’s friendly with the Netherlands.

Lennon hopeful of Swanson return

Hibs manager Neil Lennon hopes playmaker Danny Swanson will be back from injury to play his part in the Easter Road outfit’s hectic December schedule.
