Rugby: Young Scots in bid for third place

SCOTLAND play their third and final match of the FIRA-AER under-18 tournament today in Grenoble where they face Ireland Schools under-18 to decide the third and fourth positions.

Whatever the result, the Scots are guaranteed to finish at least one place higher than their fifth finishing place last season, important for next year’s seedings.

Scotland go into this final-round match having defeated Wales 18-17 in their opening game and lost to England 25-12 but with an impressive performance.

Head coach Eddie Pollock, who expects another strong display, said: “Our confidence increased after we beat Wales then ran England a lot closer. If we fully perform to our potential then we can win this game.”
