RBS National League: Biggar move away from danger

AMO Wilbore ran in four tries against Selkirk on Saturday as Biggar won their fourth RBS National League match on the spin and exited the relegation zone.

The Hartreemill outfit travelled to Philiphaugh in good form and put the hosts, who were missing key men, including Fraser Harkness, to the sword with a decisive 41-7 victory.

Ironically, when the match was first played in October, Selkirk were winning easily before the game was abandoned after the referee was injured.

Biggar are three points clear of ninth-placed Hamilton with a game in hand and, if they beat Selkirk again this weekend, Hamilton and Jed-Forest go down.

Bruce McNeil and Rory Sutherland grabbed the other tries for Biggar in the bonus point win, while Clement Lacour got Selkirk’s try, leaving them in fifth.

Meanwhile, Glasgow Hawks can still top the division after a 13-0 win at Kelso.

They failed to get a bonus point, however, and that could be crucial as Hawks are four points behind leaders Hawick who have Jed-Forest and Hillhead/Jordanhill still to play, while Hawks are away to Jed-Forest on the last day.
