MUSSELBURGH and coach Grant McKelvey have split less than halfway through the BT Premiership Division Three rugby season.
But both parties today stressed the situation was amicable with ex-international hooker McKelvey gaining a promotion from his Scottish Rugby Union employers.
"I have taken over as Edinburgh rugby development manager and the time constraints meant something had to give. Unfortunately, that was my Musselburgh commitment. I look forward to returning to coaching at grass roots at some stage."
’Burgh president John Crawford echoed the even- handed nature of the break, saying: "Grant’s decision was a personal one and we are just delighted that Stevie Dick has decided to take over the forwards’ coaching with Donald Macdonald remaining in charge of the backs.
"We are looking forward to Stevie and Donald continuing to develop momentum at home to Cartha QP on Saturday."
